Exceeding National Quality Standard: Explained
Exceeding National Quality Standard: Explained
At Bright Early Learning Centre we strive to provide the best possible start in life for each child. We are proud to announce that our centre in Glen Waverley has been rated as exceeding the national quality standards.
The National Quality Framework (NQF) is a system in Australia that sets standards for early childhood education and care services, including childcare centres. The NQF helps educators understand and adhere to these standards, and also allows parents and caregivers to assess the quality of childcare centres when making decisions about where to enrol their children.
The NQF includes seven quality areas, which are:
Educational program and practice
Children's health and safety
Physical environment
Staffing arrangements
Relationships with children
Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
Governance and leadership
Quality Area 1 focuses on the educational program and ensuring it empowers children and enhances their learning and development skills. Quality Area 2 addresses children's health and safety, and Quality Area 3 focuses on the physical environment of the childcare center. Quality Area 4 deals with staffing arrangements, and Quality Area 5 covers relationships between educators and children. Quality Area 6 addresses partnerships with families and communities, and Quality Area 7 concerns governance and leadership.
For a childcare centre to be rated as exceeding the NQF overall, it must meet or exceed standards in all seven quality areas, with at least four of these areas rated as exceeding and at least two of these areas being Quality Areas 1, 5, 6, or 7.
We take great pride in achieving the highly coveted Exceeding National Quality Standard rating from the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority(ACECQA) for our centre.
